About the department of Neuropathology
The department of neuropathology at the Charité Universitaetsmedizin Berlin is, as the only neuropathology university institution in Berlin and Brandenburg a service provider for numerous clinical institutions, both within the Charité and external.

Thanks to our specialised and long standing experience in the diagnosis of a whole range of biopsies and autopsies of diseases of the peripheral and central nervous systems as well as skeletal muscle, we are a close and reliable partner for optimal patient management. As well as this we are also active in neuroscientific research. By combining basic research with clinical research, we aim to better understand neurological diseases and provide a basis for continuing development in neuropathological diagnostics and therapies.
