Brain autopsies
A further aspect of neuropathology is the clinical autopsy, which means the postmortem examination of the brain and spinal cord. The autopsy serves as the final clarification of underlying diseases and comorbidities and the detection of neuropathological causes of the death. Therefore, clinical autopsies, which is done in cooperation with the pathology, are an essential part of quality assurance in medicine.
We offer neuropathological autopsies of the brain and the spinal cord not only for our institution, but also for external senders (i.e. departments of pathology without a consultant for neuropathology or for individuals). Please contact us if you have any questions on this topic.
